China teaches the large majority of its degrees in Chinese. The genuinely English-taught portfolio is real but concentrated in a specific set of universities and subjects, and quality varies considerably.
- What language are the examination papers delivered in — not the lectures, the papers?
- Which faculty teaches the programme, and how many of its staff were trained outside China?
- How many students are in the cohort, and how many are international?
- What does the degree certificate state, and does it record the language of instruction?
- Can you provide the contact details of two current students in this programme?
The most useful of these is the last. Current students answer honestly, and the answer is usually more informative than any recruitment page.
