Vì sao cơ sở nghiên cứu của Trung Quốc quan trọng với nghiên cứu sinh quốc tế
National synchrotrons, supercomputing centres and well-funded instrument pools are among the most cited practical advantages by research students.
One of the consistent themes in accounts by research students in China is access to facilities. National synchrotron radiation facilities operate in Shanghai, Hefei and Beijing; supercomputing centres serve most major universities; and large universities maintain instrument pools that would be prohibitively expensive for an individual group to own.
The University of Science and Technology of China runs the National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory. Tsinghua and Peking operate major national key laboratories. Huazhong University of Science and Technology hosts the Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics, the largest optoelectronics research facility in China. Beihang and Northwestern Polytechnical run wind-tunnel complexes for aerospace research.
For a doctoral applicant, facility access is often a more decisive factor than the university's overall ranking — and it is the kind of question a prospective supervisor can answer directly and concretely.
