The unavoidable costs

Each university charges a non-refundable application fee of CNY 400–800, and most applicants apply to at least two. HSK costs CNY 150–500 per level depending on country. IELTS or TOEFL adds USD 200–250. CSCA costs vary by country and by the number of subject papers you sit.

Add the Foreigner Physical Examination Form (CNY 400–800 if done in China, often more abroad), police clearance (USD 20–80), document notarisation and translation (USD 30–150), and courier costs if any part of the process is still paper-based.

Getting to China

An X1 visa is typically USD 30–140 depending on nationality and how many entries you need. Flights to China from most regions cost USD 400–1,200 one way. You will also need to budget for the first month's living costs before any stipend arrives, since scholarship payments are usually made monthly in arrears.

A practical rule: have at least CNY 10,000–15,000 available on arrival, even if you hold a full scholarship.

Where to save

Apply to two or three universities rather than six. Use electronic document submission where accepted. Do the medical examination in China after arrival if your university permits it — it is cheaper and the form is filled in correctly. And check whether your home government, employer or a charitable foundation offers application-cost support; some do for students from lower-income countries.

Học phí, hạn chót và mức học bổng được điều chỉnh theo từng kỳ. Luôn xác nhận thông tin mới nhất với phòng sinh viên quốc tế của trường và tại cổng chính thức campuschina.org trước khi nộp hồ sơ.
