Schwarzman Scholars opens another application cycle at Tsinghua

The one-year, fully funded master's in global affairs accepts applications from any nationality and does not require Mandarin.

Schwarzman Scholars funds a one-year master's degree in global affairs at Tsinghua University, covering tuition, residential accommodation in Schwarzman College, medical insurance, a living stipend, a round-trip flight to Beijing and study-tour costs inside China. Each cohort is around 150 scholars drawn from more than 70 countries.

Applicants must be under 29 as of 1 August of the enrolment year and hold an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution. There are no nationality restrictions and no Mandarin requirement; Chinese language classes are provided as a supplement to an English-taught curriculum.

Selection assesses leadership, academic excellence, character and clarity of purpose through written applications, essays and interviews held in multiple global locations. The programme's alumni network now spans government, multilateral institutions, consulting, technology and academia.

Tuition, deadlines and stipend figures are revised each cycle. Always confirm the current position with the university's international student office and on the official portal at campuschina.org before you apply.
