Program berbahasa Mandarin menaikkan syarat HSK
HSK 4 for postgraduate study and HSK 5 for undergraduate are now the norm at competitive universities, with HSK 6 expected in law and literature.
Chinese universities have been steadily raising the language requirements for Chinese-taught programmes. The working thresholds used by most competitive institutions are now HSK 4 for Chinese-taught master's and doctoral degrees, HSK 5 for Chinese-taught bachelor's degrees, and HSK 6 for programmes in Chinese literature, law and journalism. General scholar and language-training programmes typically require HSK 3.
The HSK framework itself is being revised. The new six-band, nine-level structure — often referred to as HSK 3.0 — includes a substantially stronger speaking component and intermediate steps between the old levels. Universities have been phasing in the new levels, so applicants should check which version their target programme references before booking a test.
For students who do not yet meet the requirement, undergraduate CSC scholarship holders can complete a one-year preparatory Chinese programme at one of ten designated universities, and master's and doctoral holders on Chinese-taught programmes may be required to complete one to two years of language training before starting their major. Failing the preparatory test terminates the scholarship.
