What a strong plan contains

A short statement of your academic background and the specific gap you want to fill. A named programme, faculty and — for research degrees — supervisor, with a reason why that group rather than any other. A concrete description of what you intend to study, referencing courses in the curriculum or specific research directions in the laboratory. A realistic career plan showing what the degree makes possible.

Length is usually 800–2,000 words. One page of dense, specific content beats four pages of generalities.

Mistakes that get plans rejected

Explaining that you love Chinese culture without saying what you will study. Listing your achievements instead of your intentions. Copying text that could apply to any university in any country. Ignoring the language question — if you propose to study in Chinese but have no HSK evidence, the plan looks unserious.

Also avoid proposing research the host group cannot supervise. Check the faculty publication record before naming a topic.

Structure that works

Use four short sections with headings: Academic background and preparation; Why this programme and this institution; Proposed study or research plan; Career objectives after graduation. Put the most specific content in sections two and three, because that is what distinguishes you.

Les frais de scolarité, les échéances et les montants des bourses sont révisés à chaque cycle. Vérifiez toujours la situation en cours auprès du service des étudiants internationaux de l'université et sur le portail officiel campuschina.org avant de candidater.
