Universidades sino-extranjeras: estudiar íntegramente en inglés para un título extranjero en China

Two independent Sino-foreign universities operate in Jiangsu province. Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in Suzhou was established in 2006 and awards University of Liverpool degrees alongside Chinese ones, teaching entirely in English on a British-style academic calendar. Duke Kunshan University opened in 2013 and awards a Duke University degree.

Both are positioned differently from the Sino-foreign institutes inside Chinese universities, in that they are independent institutions rather than programmes within a Chinese university, and their academic governance is jointly held with the foreign partner.

For applicants who want a Western-style degree but wish to spend their studies in China, these institutions offer the clearest version of that arrangement. Check the accreditation status of the specific programme, the language of assessment, and whether any study time in the partner country is required or optional.
