Kuliah hukum di Tiongkok: program LL.M., hukum Tiongkok berbahasa Inggris dan jalur karier
A small but growing set of Chinese law schools teach entirely in English, aimed at foreign lawyers and international students.
Jawaban singkat
What is available
Peking University School of Transnational Law, based in Shenzhen, is the most thoroughly English-taught law faculty in China. Renmin University law school offers an English LL.M. in Chinese law, Fudan and Shanghai Jiao Tong offer international law and business law master's degrees in English, and Tsinghua runs courses on Chinese law for foreign students.
Chinese-taught law degrees — including the four-year LL.B. — require HSK 5–6 and are, for most international applicants, a much harder route with limited marginal benefit.
What you will study
Typical content: Chinese constitutional and administrative law, contract and commercial law under the Civil Code, company law, foreign investment regulation, arbitration and dispute resolution, intellectual property and international trade law. The comparative element — how Chinese law differs from your home jurisdiction — is often the most valuable part.
Many programmes include an internship with a Chinese or international law firm in Beijing, Shanghai or Shenzhen.
Career reality
A Chinese LL.M. rarely qualifies you to practise in China; the Chinese bar examination has significant residency and language requirements. Its value is in positioning: working for a Chinese firm's international department, a foreign firm's China practice, an arbitration institution, a compliance function, or a government trade body. For those paths it is a genuinely differentiating credential.
