Les effectifs universitaires nationaux chinois continuent de croître en parallèle du recrutement international
With 1,000-plus institutions enrolling international students and near-record domestic participation, Chinese higher education has become the largest system in the world.
China operates the largest higher education system in the world by enrolment, with over 1,000 institutions enrolling international students and a domestic intake that has expanded continuously for two decades. In research output the country now leads in several fields including chemistry, materials science and engineering, while holding second or third positions in others.
The scale explains both the opportunity and the difficulty for an international applicant. On the one hand, the range of programmes is unmatched and many are inexpensive by international standards. On the other, quality varies widely, and choosing well requires looking beyond the headline rankings at the specific faculty, the language of instruction and the outcomes of graduates in the programme you are actually applying to.
