Which campuses are here

Shandong University's Qingdao campus in Jimo district is a purpose-built seaside campus with ocean science, life sciences and engineering schools, and a growing international student presence. The university's main historic campuses remain in Jinan.

The Ocean University of China is also here and is the country's leading institution for marine science and fisheries.

Costs and quality of life

CNY 2,700–3,500 in a dormitory, CNY 1,500–2,800 off campus. Seafood and beer are cheap; the climate means lower heating and cooling costs than either Beijing or Guangzhou.

Qingdao is repeatedly ranked among China's cleanest and most liveable cities, and the beaches at Shilaoren and the May Fourth Square promenade are within the city.

Industry and language

Qingdao is home to Haier, Hisense, Tsingtao Brewery and a large number of Korean and Japanese manufacturing firms, with a significant Korean business community. Korean and Japanese are widely taught, and the city has strong trade links across East Asia.

The local dialect is Shandong Mandarin, which is close to standard Mandarin and generally easy for learners to understand.

Climate

Qingdao has the mildest climate of any major northern Chinese city: warm summers at 22–29 °C with a sea breeze, and cool winters at 0–8 °C with little snow. Fog is common in early summer.

Les frais de scolarité, les échéances et les montants des bourses sont révisés à chaque cycle. Vérifiez toujours la situation en cours auprès du service des étudiants internationaux de l'université et sur le portail officiel campuschina.org avant de candidater.
