September orientation at Chinese universities is administrative as much as social. The standard sequence over the first two weeks includes university registration and student card issuance, verification of the medical examination, a group temporary residence registration session with the local police, assistance with the residence permit application, campus and library tours, and the distribution of scholarship and dormitory information.

The group police registration session is the most important item on the schedule, because the 24-hour registration rule and the 30-day residence permit rule both run from your entry date rather than from the start of term. Students who arrive early for travel and miss orientation sessions are the ones who run into difficulty.

Beyond the administration, orientation is the best opportunity to join clubs and meet Chinese students, and students consistently report that decisions made in the first two weeks — which clubs, which friends, whether to attend language classes — shape the whole year.

Las cifras de matrícula, plazos y estipendios se revisan cada ciclo. Confirma siempre la situación actual con la oficina de estudiantes internacionales de la universidad y en el portal oficial campuschina.org antes de solicitar.
